The Town of Bancroft is honouring a former councillor who passed away recently.
Nancy (Nan) Ellen McGhee passed away earlier this month at the age of 78. She is survived by two children and two grandchildren. McGhee served on the Bancroft Town Council for a time, and was a teacher and writer as well. She moved permanently to the Bancroft area in 1988, although she had been living in the area 10 years prior.
McGhee also had a long history with this radio station, back when 97.7 Moose FM was CJNH. McGhee was one of the first voices on the station and had a radio career during the 1980’s and 90’s. She also served as General Manager of the station.
