An award-winning Canadian author is making a local visit as part of the Tri-County Reads program July 12.
Frances Itani is coming to the Madoc Public Library for 1 p.m. to discuss her novel “Deafening,” which is based locally in Belleville and Deseronto in World War 1.
The Tri-County Reads program is new, bringing readers together from three counties – Hastings, Prince Edward and Northumberland. Readers are asked to tackle the same novel, with events about the book happening at libraries around the area. The program launched at the Hastings Highlands Public Library in Maynooth Apr. 11.
