Quinte Health Care now allowing more caregivers in hospitals

More visitors will now be allowed into Quinte Health Care (QHC) facilities.

The move comes as Step 2 of the province’s Roadmap to Reopening goes into effect. Caregivers are allowed to visit patients who are in the ICU or long stay wards. More people can also visit patients at end of life, childbirth, or critical care as well.

For the North Hastings Hospital, visitors must still use the front doors and not go through the Centennial Manor entrance. Visitors must wear masks and physically distance themselves while in the hospital, regardless of their vaccination status. They say while vaccines are a way to help protect visitors from COVID-19, not everyone in QHC hospitals are fully vaccinated, and some patients are still at risk.

The changes go into effect immediately.
