North Hastings Children’s Services launching flood of outdoor summer programs

You won’t have trouble finding something to do with your kids this summer.

Starting on Monday, North Hastings Children’s Services is launching multiple events through their EarlyON Program that will take place all over the region. Nicole Beaudin, Early Years Manager with the Service, says they can now gather in groups and are thrilled to bring back their in-person outdoor programming. They will be in places like Birdside Park, the Eagle’s Nest, Maynooth Public School and Wollaston Beach. Some of their events like the Makonsag Little Bears, Open Play and Come Drum With Me are put on by the Algonquin Inodewiziwin.

Beaudin says they are thrilled they can now gather in groups and bring back their in-person outdoor programming. However because parents can only attend one event a week, they are also offering their virtual programs like Preschool Readiness and Kitchen Connections. For the outdoor programs, Beaudin suggests bringing water, a blanket, sunscreen, and a mask.

A full list of programs can be found on their website. To sign up visit [email protected]
