Bancroft sees boost in business as Stage 3 sets in

Restrictions are easing across the province, and it’s no different in the Town of Bancroft.

With restaurants now open to in-person dining and many outdoor and indoor restrictions lifted, the town has seen a flurry of activity. With increased traffic and pedestrian volumes, expect some delays heading into town.

The Province went into Stage 3 at 12:01 Friday morning. Under the new rules, outdoor gatherings can include up to 100 people, with up to 25 people allowed indoors. Retail limits have mostly been lifted so long as physical distancing can be practiced.

However, Dr. Piotr Oglaza of Hastings Prince Edward Public Health says residents should continue following health guidelines like mask-wearing and physical distancing. While case counts are low and vaccine rates remain high, Oglaza wants to make sure all the progress the region has made is not lost. Currently, 79% of residents in Hastings Prince Edward have one dose of vaccine, while 54% are fully inoculated.
