Maynooth Pride has been postponed due to weather, according to their spokesperson.
Joey Shulman says that because they have electronic equipment for their kickoff events, the rainy forecast has made holding it impossible. As they can’t move the event inside due to COVID-19 concerns, Shulman says the organizers felt it was best to delay the event until the Labour Day long weekend.
Typically Maynooth Pride is not celebrated in the month of June, as it would be overshadowed by larger events in bigger cities. Shulman says organizing events is challenging with COVID-19, as concerns about vaccinations, seating arrangements and how to pull off events in the future always pop up.
However, Shulman says that you can still support Pride in Hastings Highlands by supporting local artists and businesses that support diversity.
