Moose FM Radiothon for NHDHA Breaks All-Time Fundraising Record

The 14th annual Moose FM Radiothon has come to a close.

Through the generous contributions of our community, the twelve-hour radiothon raised $41,500 (and counting).
This is a new all-time record of donations for the 14-year-old radiothon to benefit the North Hastings District Hospital.  More donations are expected over the next few weeks.

The fundraising event will use the funds to purchase cardiovascular care equipment for the hospital.  Dr. Parm Keila, Local Site Lead at the Hospital, says they have a working relationship with the Peterborough Regional Health Centre when caring for patients. However, the North Hastings Hospital still needs equipment to diagnose patients and make sure their ride to the Centre is comfortable.

For these reasons, Keila says this year’s fundraiser will go to buying a new ECG heart monitoring machine and a trauma stretcher that keeps patients comfortable in transit. They also plan on purchasing an i-STAT blood analyzer machine, which monitors enzyme levels in the blood of patients. With these pieces of equipment, Keila says the hospital can provide patients with the care they need when they need it.

Donations will still be accepted until the end of August, so for those wishing to donate, click here
