Effective immediately, the Township Offices of South Algonquin are closed.
The Township says they are closing their offices to minimize the potential for COVID-19 spread in the community.
Bryan Martin, CAO with the municipality, says they are doing this out of an abundance of caution, even though he did confirm that the case was not directly tied to the municipality or its staff. The offices will remain closed until further notice.
The Renfrew County District Health Unit, which manages case numbers for the municipality, has recorded its first new case in over a week.
