The Bancroft branch of the Lions Club is collecting eyeglasses for those who need them on Canada Day.
They’ll have a booth at Millennium Park on July 1, where you can bring your old eyeglasses, sunglasses, magnifiers and lenses.
The Bancroft Lions Club will send them to their national recycling centre in Calgary for cleaning, repairing and shipping to where they’re needed.
According to the World Health Organization, more than 150 million people around the world have eye issues and can’t afford eyeglasses.
