A major fundraiser for healthcare in North Hastings is kicking off this week.
The North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary has partnered with local Tim Hortons stores to help fundraise to buy new equipment for the hospital. The Auxiliary hopes the fundraiser will allow them to buy a new ECG heart monitoring machine and a trauma stretcher. They also plan on purchasing an i-STAT blood analyzer machine, which monitors enzyme levels in the blood of patients.
Michael Brooks from the Auxiliary says the campaign has always been a huge success for them, and a large part of their fundraising efforts. He is encouraging the community to come out and support them during the event.
Tim Hortons will be selling the special cookies until September 19th. They will be selling for $1 each, with all proceeds going to the hospital.
