Fetal alcohol syndrome family support group offered by Children’s Services

In honour of September being Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Month, North Hastings Children’s Services wants to support families living with the disorder.

The Service will be holding a FASD Family Support Group that will start on October 6th starting at 5:30 PM. There will be six sessions lasting all the way until March of next year, held at the Service’s Child and Youth Hub. Nicole Beaudin, Early Years Educator with the Service, says there will be activities, guest speakers and giveaways at the event. The event is free of charge.

Beaudin says each person with FASD has strengths and challenges and will need support to help them in their lives. She hopes the support group will make parents feel like they are all in this together.
