Water main flushing in Bancroft to finish up this weekend

If you’ve been experiencing discoloured water and low water pressure this past week, it’ll be gone by the weekend.

The Town of Bancroft will wrap up its latest water main flushing program on Saturday, October 2nd. The flushing is done to remove sediment build-up in the Town water supply and keep the quality of the water high.

However, while many streets have already been flushed, water company Veolia says there is a chance that some residents may still see water discolouration or poor water pressure as the process continues. They say if you have discoloured water, run cold water through taps each morning. They also ask residents to avoid using water from 8 PM until 6 AM, and to not wash clothes in discoloured water.

Streets that have yet to be flushed include Chemaushgon Road, Forest Hill Road, Bridge Street, Billa Street, Newkirk Boulevard, Monck Street and Mill Street, along with several others.
