Town of Bancroft gives green light to street closures for Santa Claus Parade

Bancroft is getting a Santa Claus Parade this year.

The Town has voted in favour of allowing the Bancroft Lion’s Club to hold the parade on Saturday, December 4th. Council voted to close several streets for the parade, like Monck Street, Sherbourne Street, Bridge Street, Hastings Street and Station Street for the event. The event will take place from 2:30 until 3:30.

Mayor Paul Jenkins says there is a catch: Public health will have to approve the parade before it can fully go forward. However, he is very hopeful that there will be more Town sponsored events in the future if this is successful. With other Town-run events like the Rockhound Gemboree and Wheels, Water and Wings having been postponed for a number of years, Jenkins hopes to see these events back in 2022.
