The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board wants to get student input so they can make their schools more inclusive.
They are launching their first-ever census across the entire school board. The survey, which they call “This is Me in HPE”, will be conducted from November 15th to the 19th. They want to collect “identity-based” information in order to meet the learning needs of all their students. They also want to address inequities, barriers and biases in the school system.
The Board says that participation is voluntary and will take 20 minutes to complete. The survey is confidential and will protect each student’s right to privacy.
Parents should expect more information in November.
