Upgrades to water booster station could cause water issues, says Town

Fire hydrant flushing may be over for the fall months, but the company that manages water in the Town of Bancroft says you may see more issues this week.

Water company Veolia has announced that it is performing upgrades to the Bridge Street West Water Booster Station. They say they are replacing pumps, piping and valves at the location.

As a result, they say some residents of the surrounding streets, like Maple, Oak and Manor Lane, will experience low water pressures and rusty or dirty water. They say that in some instances, these issues may affect the surrounding area. However, residents should not expect a loss of water.

Those around the plant should try to avoid using large quantities of water from 8 AM until 3:30 PM until Wednesday. Running cold water should clear the discolouration from the water if it occurs.

Upgrades are expected to wrap up by the end of Wednesday, October 20th.
