South Algonquin Township prohibits winter parking on its roads

If you park on township-owned roads in South Algonquin, you’re going to have to make other plans.

The municipality says no vehicle or trailers may park on their road allowance starting November 1st. This is because these vehicles pose a safety risk to snowplows. The Township wants residents to arrange for their driveways to be cleared so that they don’t have to park on roads, and that emergency services can get to them. Those who use the lakes in the municipality to fish are asked to make parking arrangements ahead of time.

Failure to follow the order will result in the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense. The order will last until April 15th, 2022.
