It is a major milestone in Hastings Prince Edward Public Health’s fight against COVID-19.
The Health Unit has announced that 90 percent of people aged 12 and up have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Second dose rates are high as well, with 84 percent of the population fully vaccinated. Over 2,500 people in the region have received a third dose.
Case counts in the region have remained low, with 20 active cases in the Hastings Prince-Edward at the time of writing. None of these cases are active in North Hastings. 55 percent of the current cases are in unvaccinated people, while 45 percent are fully inoculated.
