The North Hastings Community Cupboard is scaling back operations.
The food bank will now be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 AM until 2 PM. They will also be open on Thursday evenings from 4 PM until 7 PM. These changes will take into effect on November 9th. They plan to serve meals during holidays as well.
Staff say after 564 straight days of operation, the food bank will now only serve meals and drinks during their operating hours. Food Bank staff say they are doing this as they review their programming and figure out how best to use their resources. They also say that the construction of their new commercial kitchen will get underway too. These changes will expand their reach.
