Do you know what this island is called? MNRF wants to know

Someone wants the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to officially name this island.

The Ministry is asking those with knowledge of Otter Lake for their input after receiving a request to rename a large island. The lake is in the Township of Ashby in Lennox and Addington County, just off of Weslemkoon Lake. The rock in question is to the east of Henderson Island.

The request submitted to the ministry is asking to rename the land to “Fuzz’s Rock”. The Ministry says this will name the island after a well-known community member, and says it has been using this name for the last 60 years. However, the Ministry needs to know if there are other names for the island before they can support the name change. They also will be reaching out to municipalities, organizations and First Nations for their input.

If you want to know which island they are talking about, and if it goes by the name of Fuzz Rock, click here.
