Local Ski Club Recognized for Community Service Award

A local ski lodge in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan has won a prestigious award.

The Opeongo Hills Nordic Ski Club has won in the not-for-profit category for the Renfrew County Warden’s Community Service Award. Chris Hinsperger, a former president of the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association, nominated the club due to its role in the community and economic development in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan. He says since the club was established in 2011, they have enriched the lives of hundreds of skiers and volunteers.

In the category of individual, the Warden’s Community Service Award went to Pembroke Library CEO Karthi Rajamani. Warden Debbie Robinson congratulated both winners, and said that “they exemplify what it means to be community-minded.”
