The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board is attempting to get kids back in school who left because of the pandemic.
The board reports that over 300 students are currently homeschooling, saying numbers are up because of the pandemic. They say that typically, 250 students take the homeschooling route each year.
However, they say they have been able to return dozens of students to the registers through phone calls and home visits to families. The board hopes to re-engage with students throughout the year and bring them back in when they are ready to return to school.
