Hastings County is still having some problems pinpointing a location for a warming centre in North Hastings.
In a report from the County’s Human Services Committee, staff says they are continuing to work with community organizations to find a secure location. However, they do say that many locations have been reviewed, and the County will continue to work with community groups to review their options. Staff says they will meet with these groups in the near future.
The County has identified places in both Quinte West and the City of Belleville to run warming centres. Those locations, and the eventual one in Bancroft, will be funded by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
