Landfills and transfer stations in Northumberland County are receiving support from the provincial and federal governments.
It’s through the $1 billion Small Communities Fund, which supports community infrastructure projects. The province and the federal government will each give up to $152,640 towards the project. The money will be used to improve safety and diversion of waste that isn’t collected at the curb.
The County will have to cover all other costs associated with the project.
