As part of the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund, the Town of Bancroft has received a considerable boost to help fund construction projects.
The Town has received over $298,000 to go towards the repairs of roads, bridges and water infrastructure. This is up from the $143,000 that it received last year. It is the second-largest amount for North Hastings, with the Municipality of Hastings Highland receiving $312,000. MPP for Hastings Lennox and Addington Daryl Kramp called the funding boost welcome news.
Bancroft is one of 424 communities to see funding from the program in 2022. In total, the province aims to distribute $400 million to these municipalities.
