The Bancroft OPP, along with various OPP units, executed a drug warrant in Cardiff early Wednesday morning.
The OPP responded with the: Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, Community Drug Action Team, Tactical Response Unit, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit.
Police say more than $1,700 in cocaine as well as cannabis marijuana and money were found inside the Highlands East home. Two people were arrested and taken to the detachment.
A 34-year old Whitby resident and 24-year old woman from Highlands East were charged with: possession of a schedule 1 substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule 2 substance (under 30 grams of cannabis marijuana) and possession of property obtained by crime.
The two accused were released on the promise to appear with an officer of charge’s undertaking with conditions. They’re due for a first appearance Aug. 11.
