Hastings County has created a new Honourary Warden position to recognize the contributions that people and groups are making to our community.
The County created the position at its council meeting on Wednesday. Those chosen for the title will hold office for one year, from July 1 to June 30, starting Wednesday.
Community volunteer Boyd Sullivan has been chosen as the first recipient. He lives in Latta and has raised millions of dollars for local charities.
Warden Rick Phillips says he looks forward to working with Sullivan over the next year.
