A program run by Nipissing District Paramedic Services to help people in their homes is expanding to South Algonquin.
In the Nipissing Community Paramedic Program, paramedics do home visits where they do physical assessments, help monitor residents’ vital signs remotely, provide vaccinations and host wellness clinics. They also help patients stuck at home navigate the healthcare system.
The Township of South Algonquin is the latest region to receive this service in the District. North Bay, Mattawa, Temagami and West Nipissing are the only other areas that are served under the Community Paramedic Program.
