The empty seat on the Bancroft Town Council has been filled.
In a council meeting on Tuesday afternoon, John Kirby was appointed by council and sworn in by Acting Clerk Amber McKenzie. Mayor Paul Jenkins says Kirby has much practical and council experience, and has filled midterm council vacancies on several occasions. He will also serve as the Town representative on the Bancroft BIA.
The seat was left vacant after Andra Kaffeldt assumed the position of General Manager of the Town on December 1st. She will also be interim treasurer, taking the place of Bill Davie, who has stepped down.
