School Board Prepares for return of in-person learning

Kids are slated to go back to school on Monday, and the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board is preparing for it.

As part of the return to classrooms, students and staff will be required to screen for COVID-19 every day. In addition, they must isolate if they develop COVID symptoms, regardless of vaccination status.

The board is preparing for staffing shortages due to the Omicron variant. They say if schools do not have enough staff to operate safely, they will return those schools to remote learning.

Teachers will update online classrooms for those who are unable to attend classes. The board is urging parents to remain in contact with their student’s teachers if there is an absence.
