The Town of Bancroft will keep the doors of the arena open as a warming centre.
The North Hastings Community Centre at 103 Newkirk Boulevard will now be open from January 18th until the 23rd from 9 PM until 7 AM each day. The move comes as daily high temperatures are expected to hover below -10 celsius, with overnight temperatures dropping to around -20.
The site is run by the Town of Bancroft and is located in the upper level of the arena. Town staff add that beds and meals will not be provided, and COVID-19 screening is required before entering the centre.
