The province is funnelling more funding into transit in North Hastings.
The municipalities of Bancroft, Hastings Highlands and Wollaston will receive over $78,000 thanks to the provincial Gas Tax. Proceeds from the tax can be used to extend service hours, buy transit vehicles, add routes and improve accessibility. It is part of $1.4 million that is being allocated to Hastings-Lennox and Addington counties to improve their public transportation systems.
MPP Daryl Kramp says this year, the province has topped off the gas tax funding to compensate for the sluggish gas sales during the pandemic.
