Police ask for public’s assistance over shooting incident involving dogs

Police need the public’s help finding information over two dogs found shot in Haliburton Highlands.

Police received a call on October 22nd of 2021 about two missing dogs in the Trappers Trail area of Dysart et. Al Township. The owners said their dogs came loose from their leads the previous day and did not return home. The two missing dogs were later found deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police are urging anyone with information who has not spoken to them yet to come forward. They want anyone with information to call the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 705-286-1431. They say if you wish to remain anonymous, you can also call Crimestoppers.
