Hastings Prince Edward Public Health loosens restrictions

Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has rescinded a letter of instruction and two class orders.

The restrictions were meant to curb the spread of COVID-19. However, as the province reopens, Dr. Ethan Toumishey, Medical Officer of Health, has rescinded those restrictions as of March 1st.

The letter of instruction had to deal with proof of vaccination for volunteers, coaches and officials of organized sports. The letter was implemented on October 4th for all sports venues in the County.

The class orders were related to self-isolation and what employers needed to do to curb the spread of the virus. Workplaces are no longer required to remove and report any employee who needs to be self-isolating. In addition, the Health Unit will now follow the province’s guidelines for self-isolating, rather than their own rules they implemented in November.
