Flood warnings remain, snowmobile trails close as warm weather continues

With snow falling across the region and warm temperatures predicted, many areas are still under a provincial flood watch.

The Bancroft, Pembroke and Algonquin Park areas may still experience some flooding as daytime highs for the week will remain above freezing. The province still expects runoff and snow melt, resulting in some localized flooding in low lying areas. Local Ministry of Natural Resources groups have not issued water safety statements at this time.

The warm weather has also caused some snowmobile trails to shut down. The B trail has been closed through until Wilno, and the E trail is listed as “limitedly available” south of Bancroft. The B106E is also closed between Whitney and Bancroft.
