A crash course for potential municipal candidates is being offered by Hastings County clerks.
A Candidate Information Workshop will be run on Zoom on April 25th. The workshops are open to potential candidates, spouses or partners of candidates, or anyone interested in local government. Topics include the responsibilities of candidates, conflict of interest, what powers candidates will have if elected, and much more.
The talks will be headed by Fred Dean, a lawyer for municipalities. He is a facilitator training members of council and heads of council for the Association of Municipalities. The event is put on by the Hastings County Clerk and Treasurer’s Association.
