Marches of Gratitude taking place through month of March

It is what organizers call a “show of respect and admiration” to frontline workers.

A “March of Gratitude” is being planned throughout the month of March across Bancroft. Steering committee members Leila Ward and William Kilpatrick say they want to bring a positive feeling to the Town after the tough times of the last two years. They say they want to do something that makes people smile, and start the rebuilding process of the community, as it has been tough on relationships, businesses and families.

There has already been an event held on March 1st. During that time, both Ward and Kilpatrick say participants had signs thanking front line workers, were handing out “thank you” cards, and showing gratitude to front line workers. If they want to, the public can purchase gift certificates from small businesses and drop them off at Alice’s Pantry. These will be raffled off to all frontline workers at the end of the month.

The next march is happening on March 9th at 3 PM, with people gathering at the Service Ontario building. The third will be held on March 17th starting at the Foodland Parking Lot at 3 PM. The last one will take place on March 27th at the Post Office parking lot at 11 AM. Any accumulated gift cards will be raffled off at that final march.
