An important change that was critical to the work of Safe Use Hastings has been granted.
Health Canada has granted Urgent Public Health Need Site exemption to the group. This means their mobile site, “The Haven” is free from drug checking activities by police.
Safe Use Hastings aims to provide a safe environment for people who use drugs in order to cut down on overdose deaths, curb the transmission of diseases and to provide a disposal site for used needles.
