The new library has gotten the green light, but the North Hastings Public Library says it’ll need the public’s help to make it happen.
The space has already had part of its funding provided by all three levels of government. However, the Town of Bancroft staff says they need an extra $500,000 in funds raised to complete the project. The Town has announced the new fundraising campaign in order to get the community to help out. They say members will be able to volunteer, donate or pledge to help support the building of the new space.
The new library, now known as North Hastings Inspiration Place, will be a community hub located on Cleak Avenue in Bancroft that will add social space that will allow for extra community use and social space. Construction is expected to begin in the fall of this year. It is expected to be completed in late 2023.
