If things go well, the North Hastings Music Festival will hold actual, in-person performances.
In a letter to the Town of Bancroft, they say they are hopeful for an in-person event. They say they have faced challenges with COVID-19 restrictions and were only able to do a virtual event in 2021. They already have four adjudicators booked who will give advice to young performers. Organizers say they have contingency plans in place should they not be able to hold the festival in person. This year’s festival is set to run from May 2nd until the 6th.
The group is asking for the Town of Bancroft to sponsor their event so they can cover maintenance costs, cover accommodation and offer cash awards and bursaries. The Festival has been happening in North Hastings for over 60 years. Organizers say it’s a chance for local artists to build their confidence by performing in front of an audience.
