A Place for the Arts hosting student art exhibit

A number of students at North Hastings High School will have their art on display in one of the galleries in town.

A Place for the Arts is hosting “Emerging (A)Vocations”, which will take place at their Annex Gallery starting on April 1st. Show organizer Andrew Edgar says the students from grades 9 through 12 will present their art at the show, with eight students committing so far.

Edgar, who is a visual arts teacher at North Hastings, says the students are encouraged to produce art that draws on techniques from the masters and are encouraged to make art that communicates ideas, emotions, and comments on issues. Edgar says that the artworks showcase a range of ability and talents, created both in class and outside the classroom setting.

The exhibit will last until May 1st at the gallery on Bridge Street West.
