Stewardship Council to fund shoreline restoration with tree sale proceeds

Buying trees from the Bancroft Stewardship Council will help rehabilitate some shorelines this year, according to the organization’s chair.

Ian Hendry says similar to years past, their annual tree and shrub sale will be funding programs the Council runs. The butterfly garden package is available again this year, complete with 20 native plants known to attract pollinators.

Hendry says this is the 27th year they have done the fundraiser to support their work. This year they will be donating 140 trees to a local Scout group to be planted in Eagles Nest Park. Money raised will also three rehabilitation projects on Wollaston Lake and the Harcourt Park area.

The deadline to place an order is May 2nd. Pick-up is May 7th in Bancroft. Orders can be placed here.
