The Terry Fox Foundation has recognized a major milestone achieved by Hastings Prince Edward District School Board students.
Since the start of fundraising in the 1980s, students have raised $1.2 million in support of cancer research. Last year’s totals of $65,895 in money raised pushed them over that mark. Schools complete Terry Fox events every September.
Director of Education Katherine MacIver says giving back and civic responsibility is a part of educating students. MacIver praised the students and families for their caring and contribution in support of a worthy cause.
