United Way Hastings & Prince Edward announces “Your Community, Your Vision” project

A local fundraising organization is looking for feedback on how it can better serve our community’s needs.

United Way Hastings & Prince Edward (HPE), which raises money for local charities and nonprofit organizations, is hosting a series of public meetings it’s calling the “Your Community, Your Vision” project.

The goal of the meetings is to update the “impact strategy” that the group uses to make decisions. The last time it was updated was in 2013.

“This is a unique opportunity for United Way HPE to deepen its understanding of our community’s needs, and it’s your opportunity to help guide the organization’s future decisions and direction,” says Jodi Hooper, the organization’s Director of Community Impact. “Our goal is to co-create, with our community, an impact strategy that will guide all of United Way’s work, including funding for community programs.”

Meetings are scheduled across the region, and will take place throughout May, June and September.

The first, being held at the Loyalist College Link Lounge in Belleville, is scheduled for May 10th.

Other meetings include a May 18th stop in Quinte West’s Trenton Arena, a virtual get together on the 25th, and a trip to Bancroft’s North Hastings Community Centre on June 16th.
