Contractors flushing some Bancroft sewers May 9th

You might notice an unpleasant odor in some parts of Bancroft in a few days.

Contractors working for Veolia, a water, waste and energy management company based out of France, will be flushing the sewer system in parts of the town early next week.

“The work will not affect the majority of homeowners and businesses or cause disruption to service,” the company says.

“However, there is a possibility of some noise; and small spills and odours may result in some homes.”

The organization says these spills and smells are caused by the cleaning process, which uses high-pressure water jets to wash the pipes.

The flushing is happening on Monday, May 9th.

A full list of streets in town that will be affected by the flushing, as well as a phone number you can call with any questions or concerns, can be found on the Town of Bancroft Facebook page.
