Spring Golf Tournament to raise funds for Northern Environmental Research class

It’s a fundraiser that will help prepare students for a career in natural resources or science.

The Northern Environmental Research and Development Studies (NERDS) Program at North Hastings High School is running its spring golf tournament. The program helps students kick start a career in natural resource management, natural science or environmental science. It also helps students get into post-secondary programs while allowing them to become certified and train on equipment.

The program is seeking sponsorships from businesses and the community to help offset the costs involved. They are looking for prize and silent auction item donations, as well as food items for their barbeque. They are also looking for hole sponsors.

The tournament is taking place at the Bancroft Golf Course on Saturday, June 11th. The cost is $50 for non-members and $30 for members. Those who would like to attend the barbeque or silent auction only can purchase tickets for $15.
