Thousands still without power in North Hastings

Cleanup from the weekend’s storm continues in the region.

Hydro One is reporting that some 7,000 customers are without power in the areas of Coe Hill, Apsley, Cloyne and Denbigh. Many of these outages do not have an estimated repair time, and those that do predict power to be out until Friday, May 29th.

Further, Wollaston Township has declared a state of emergency. Township staff say anyone in need of potable water can get it at the public works yard and their public bathrooms remain open.

Tudor and Cashel Township has declared a state of emergency as well. They urge everyone to avoid unnecessary travel and say they have water and internet access available at their township office.

Meanwhile, Faraday Township says their email server has been knocked out by the outages. Limerick Township is also offering potable water at their township offices, and is urging people to stay off the roads to allow cleanup crews to do their work.
