Bon Echo Park reopens after storm repairs

Ontario Parks says it took tremendous hard work, but one of its major parks in the area is set to reopen.

Bon Echo Provincial Park was forced to close due to the storm that passed through the area in May. However, park officials say that 400 campsites in the Mazinaw Campground are now open to use. They say day-use areas and many roofed accommodations are open as well.

However, some sections of the park will be closed due to unsafe conditions. This includes backcountry campgrounds, the Hardwood Hills Campgrounds, and their camp cabins. They urge campers to stay up to date about closures via the Ontario Parks website.

Officials say the reopening of Bon Echo Park is only possible because of their team, and their tireless efforts to get the park safe for use.
