Bancroft OPP say they are investigating the sudden death of a 23-month-old child.
Police say they were called to a parking lot on Monck Road around 3:45 p.m. Thursday for a child located with no vital signs.
An ambulance transported the child to the hospital and shortly after they were pronounced deceased.
An investigation is continuing under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch in conjunction with the Officer of the Chief Coroner of Ontario.

A post mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
