Reminder: Last chance to apply for moose tags July 7th

There’s only two days left to request moose hunting tags from Ontario Fish and Wildlife.

The province’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry opened applications for its leftover tags in June.

Tags cost between $30 and $200, depending on if you want to hunt calves, cows or bulls, and you’ll need to get a moose hunting license for $35.29.

There’s also a $15 application fee, but if you tried applying for tags during the first allocation period in the spring, you won’t need to pay it again.

If you aren’t able to get tags, you can still go moose hunting as part of a group with someone who does, as long as you have a license.

You can apply at participating ServiceOntario locations, online, or over the phone by calling 1-800-288-1155.

If you get a tag, you’ll be able to claim it starting August 1st.
