A new member of the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board leadership team has been appointed.
Kristen Niemi is the new Superintendent of Education and will begin her job on August 22nd. She will be responsible for the support of the North Hastings and Eastside school groups. She will also take on the portfolios of Equity, Innovation, Indigenous Education and Safe Schools.
Niemi filled a superintendent role at the District School Board Ontario North East for four years. She also held administrative roles with that school board and the Near North District School Board.
The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board has been looking to fill the superintendent role since July.
